projects!

 My little girl is turning 1 in 19 days. So in the name of my first girl turning one and my official stance as a m.o.m, I have begun projects

Making Evie's first birthday cupcake naturally with pure can sugar, organic flour, and icing in a unique italian buttercream. I've received much slack about this but I am resolute in my decision to train Evie to not eat junk...just be happy for us and don't judge :)

I've found awesome little pieces of clothing all over the internet that will total a little girl all dolled up in the cutest outfit EVER. I just wish they would arrive so i can take her to get pictures done.

Her party will be wonderful. Cake and icecream, no games or crafts, and hopefully just the right amount of people. a delicious cake made by a friend in the theme of her party- polka dots! Not too much drama.I'm saving that for future parties upon the advice of experienced dear friends. I have a couple projects that are included in the fun planning of the party: a banner made from cute material and invitations with her picture and polka dot ribbon.

charlie brown

After spending the last 9 months with our sweet baby girl- ryan and I decided there was NO way this girl would not touch and pull and possibly climb our christmas tree. So we opted for a charlie brown christmas tree that now sits on our hutch in our living room. Out of little finger's way..

Positive:

I get the amazing affect of lights reflecting through the branches onto the wall

The tree won't land on Evie when it falls because it's out of reach

we spent no money on a tree by using one of the leland cypress from the nursery.

Quickly

This word describes my life. Life has moved so quickly. This time lst year I was working as the coordinator for a literacy program. I had a baby growing in my belly and it was evident by the cutest belly bump. This year I work outside all morning moving plants, watering plants, doing busy jobs for the managers. I do not have a baby in my belly this year instead I have her in my arms. She presently is talking away upstairs in her crib as she just finished her nap.

It's around this time of year that most peope, including myself, realize the need for discipline in my life. I have list that I keep adding to of things I need to start working on.

Oh back to "quickly": Evie is growing quickly. This morning at 1 or maybe it was when she woke up at 4 I just thought of how small she is and even smaller she used to be. My little bumble bee is growing...can't believe

Her talking has transitioned to part whaling for me to come get her... next point on quickly: I'm also always moving quickly :)

Sunday morning

I noticed yesterday how I laugh ALL the time now with Evie. The way she sticks out her bottom lip while eating at her highchair, the way she turns her eyes in a direction and then turns her head to follow or the way she reminds me of the babies on Dr. Suess when her socks drag behind. I love how she crawls really fast when she gets excited about something new to play with in her room. I also think it's great how she can put on a I'm happy and wide awake show for her grandparents just so they have a few more minutes with her.

Not getting much sleep these days. Evie goes in spurts of sleeping straight through the night and then yucky spurts of waking every 4 or 5 hours. I feel like she about to end this one because last night she only woke up once.

I get so excited when I hear of absolutely adorable stories of other moms and the cute new things their babies/kids are saying and doing.

It's sunday morning and ryan and I didn't get to drive together to church because of ms. napper. no prob though. I'd rather have a rested and happy baby at church. I'm looking forward to this afternoon. I want to read some more info on my ceus, clean some of the garage, and take a nap.

Sad. really sad.

But it WILL be okay. Thank you Terrica for some words of TRUTH. Yes, I'm sad that McCain didn't win. But now I will pray. and continue to pray. and not give up. AND I'm going to try to speak positive words... because God is so sovereign. And when His people pray: Hearts turn. And I do believe Obama can make positive decisions for the best of this country.

Challenge for the rest of this year and into the new year with the new president of America: speak positive words and pray for Obama and all the democrats who hold the majority in the House.

I will not be negative. I will believe the best because I believe God allowed this to happen. Wouldn't it be all more amazing if a man went into the White House that we did not agree with and during his stay had a change of heart... I think so...

Positive #1: Maybe there will be less complaining now
